AI Brand Evaluator

An AI-powered brand compliance tool that scores your designs against brand guidelines — paste your standards, upload your work, and get an instant gut check

This started from a pretty simple question: can AI give you a fast, honest read on whether your design actually fits the brand? Not a full audit, not a committee review — just a quick gut check. So I built a web app where you paste in brand guidelines, upload a design image, and get back a compliance score with explanations across multiple dimensions. I tested it with a graphic and it came back at 90% on-brand, with a clear breakdown of why — color usage, typography alignment, visual tone, all of it scored and explained individually.

The concept

The beauty of this approach is how low-friction it is. Every designer has had that moment where you’re three rounds deep and someone asks “does this feel on-brand?” and the answer is always vibes-based. This tool gives you something concrete to point at. It’s not replacing a brand team’s judgment, but it’s a useful sanity check during the messy middle of a project when you want to make sure you haven’t drifted too far. Paste the guidelines, drop in your comp, and get a read in seconds.

Where it went from here

This was actually the precursor to a more advanced version I ended up building as a Figma plugin. The web app proved the concept — AI vision models can meaningfully evaluate brand compliance if you give them the right context — and that gave me the confidence to take it further into the tool designers are already working in. But even as a standalone web app, it holds up. Sometimes the simplest version of an idea is the one that tells you whether it’s worth building the bigger version.
